Our History

Loyola Elementary and Pre School is an institution that follows Ignatian values and spirituality. It was founded in 2017 by Tailleen Arias. Since then, it has served the Doral community located in Miami, Florida.  Originally, Loyola was a Pre School named "Kids Village," also founded by Mrs. Arias in 2000.

After some time in discernment which she wondered about what kind of education could offer a complete and profound comprehension of the person, she found the answer in Ignatian spirituality. Father Marcelino Garcia S.J., Father Pedro González Llorente S.J., and Dr. Romagosa played an essential role during the developing process. Loyola is not just a business to Tailleen, but above all, it is a mission that God has given to be present in the lives of families and children. As she always says: "Loyola is God's school, and we just manage his project."

A founding board of advisors was created and became a pivotal component of the conversion of the school. The board consisted of community leaders in business, education, faith, finance, and the arts with Father Marcelino SJ as chairman. Raul Masvidal, Juan Ubaldo Arias, Dr. Jorge de Diego, Barbara Romani, Dr. Giselle Elgarresta Rios, Juan Casimiro, Ana Maria Feo, and Maria Alejandra Pulgar efficiently helped to accomplish Loyola's mission and Vision as board members.

Loyola became the FIRST independent catholic school in Doral and the FIRST Ignatian-based school directed by lay Ignatians in collaboration with the Society of Jesus, better known as Jesuits, in the US.

Every August 21st, we celebrate our anniversary to thank God for so many blessings.  In 2021 we reached our first lustrum (5 years), and we have many things to thank. Loyola has become a solid institution that proclaims Christian values, and we see how these values have changed our children. Mind, body, and spirit integrated into through God's love have made a difference".

To be part of Loyola means to be part of a thankful life full of respect, love and service.
